What if you could build a creative life that surprises and excites you, one achievable action at a time?

Catherine welcomes you to 1:1 coaching

1:1 creativity coaching that prioritizes you

…so that you can prioritize your creative projects with compassion and ease.

If you’ve put yourself last for way too long, you’re not alone, and it’s not too late (to write your book, make your paintings, build an illustration practice, record your album, or anything else your creative heart desires).

What is true
is that you are a thoughtful, highly competent, and creative person, and this has made you a valued partner, parent, employee, and community member…

…and somewhere along the way, it became all too easy to:

  • fill up your calendar with lots of important work projects (and your idea notebook with things you’ll get to “someday”)

  • manage the needs of multiple family members (how many calendars are you balancing?)

  • juggle all of the things you’ve taken leadership roles on (because you always seem to be the best person for the job!)

…while your manuscript, paintbrushes, sketchpad, and guitar sit at the bottom of your pile of priorities.

When you deny your creative desires, you are silencing yourself.

Creativity coaching can help you listen to your artist self again.

And the real kicker? Doing so will actually help you show up better in all those other areas of life, too.

Glowing yellow candle to light the way to your creative life

You already have the answers inside of you
(even if they’ve been difficult to access amidst all of your other commitments).

You just need personalized space and tools to nurture your relationship with your creativity, comfort, and aliveness.

(Not another workshop, course, or forcing yourself
through the first four chapters of The Artist’s Way, yet again.)

Past 1:1 clients have:

  • created their art without worrying what other people think (especially harsh teachers, parents, or siblings who said they were wasting their time).

  • made time for their manuscript even when they weren’t sure where it would end up…and then surprised themselves with how much they loved the result.

  • been able to show up more successfully in their day jobs once they started prioritizing their creative practice.

  • discovered entirely new creative activities that fed their ideas and progress in the projects that were most important to them (creation fuels more creativity!).

  • gave space to their creative dreams and took manageable action steps to achieve them, without self-judgment.

  • turned confusion into curiosity into creation, at last.

Ready to give your artist self the respect you deserve?

(and that you’ve been giving to everyone else?)

You don’t have to do it alone.

1:1 creativity coaching means having Catherine in your corner as a professional art guide, so that you can build trust with your creative practice and feel delighted with yourself as you make space for your painting, develop your journaling habit, write your songs, finish your book…or all of the above.

“Catherine is amazing and has been such a great support in my creative life. She has consistently made me (and my creative goals and dreams) feel seen and safe. She has helped me believe in myself as an artist. I'm so grateful to have worked with her!”
-Michelle Béland, writer

Building a sustainable creative practice isn’t simply about implementing a series of habits and continuing them forever — rather, it’s about working with the fluctuations of life in a holistic way to stay connected to your creative practice, even in the midst of unpredictability. This is what makes creativity coaching so powerful.

My 3-month and 12-month programs give you steady support to get you through those inevitable moments of self-doubt or distractions (we all have them!) and committed to your practice, whether that be writing, painting, singing, drawing, or something(s) else. There is room for all of it in 1:1 creativity coaching!

“With her coaching, Catherine supported me in achieving my goals. I found time to write that I didn’t know I had.”
-Diana, writer

What does a creativity coaching program look like?

This is space for you. I’m completely present to focus on your vision and goals.

During our sessions on Zoom, we set an agenda for what you would like to be coached on. I listen and reflect back on themes that are popping up for you, and we go deeper together via powerful questions. We end each session with your takeaways and clarity on next steps, as well as tailored journal prompts inspired by our conversation (so you’re not left wondering how to fit your practice in with all of your other life commitments).

You get support between sessions to stay accountable to your creative vision.

Between our sessions, you continue the deep work of getting in alignment with your artistic vision and setting and reaching meaningful goals. I support you in this process via email and Voxer voice messages. You also receive a recording of each coaching session to keep forever.

We explore options together. You lead the way, and I offer the best techniques in my toolbox to help you on your journey.

This is what you can’t get from a book, group workshop, or YouTube video: coaching tailored to your experience and needs, drawn from my decades of experience across genres.

In addition to my training and years as a writer, visual artist, and musician, and my coaching training, I am also a certified advanced SCUBA diver, tarot enthusiast, former dean’s scholar in physics, and experienced director of programs in higher education. It all supports my work with my 1:1 coaching clients.

Plus! Alongside the work together that we do through coaching, I love bringing resources to my clients that I’ve accumulated over decades of network building and my work with creative organizations.

Hop on the phone with Catherine for a stress-free conversation to get all your questions answered about the 3-month and 12-month programs.
Together, we can decide which option is best for you to achieve your creative dreams (and no pressure here — if a coaching program isn’t the right fit for you, I can suggest other helpful resources from my community and decades in art, music, and writing).

-Jen O., dancer and entrepreneur

And, yes, a coaching program is a commitment — I commit to you 100%, and you commit to YOURSELF for the time we are working together (and beyond!). That being said…

About your coach:

Catherine singing her heart out as she covers PJ Harvey

Creative lives aren’t one size fits all

I’m a mom, a partner, a daughter, and a person who has made music and art, and published writing of various genres, through many decades and many day jobs in NYC. I believe in the power of 1:1 coaching because I know that the creative process is impacted by everything else going on in your beautiful, unique life. You aren’t going to get a list of standard suggestions from me (listen, waking up at 5am every day to work on your manuscript just isn’t a viable option for a lot of us!)…rather, you’ll get a dedicated, focused partner whom you can trust completely to support you through the fluctuations of life and keep your creativity at the top of your priority (and action-taking!) list.

I know that diving into your creative dreams with a coach can feel vulnerable — but that’s because your creativity is an essential, important part of your identity. I’ve supported hundreds of artists and writers in claiming that part of their identity and getting their art into the world. The real risk isn’t investing in coaching — it’s letting your creative desires get pushed to the back burner for yet another season, year, or lifetime.

“Coaching with you is better than therapy for me, honestly.”
-former client

It’s okay to have questions!
(We love questions around here.)

Somewhere inside of you, there is a quiet (or loud!) voice that is telling you to make things. Maybe your artist self wants to write a book, explore an interesting topic in an essay or two, start a series of paintings, create an album of songs, or simply keep a regular journaling practice. Your creativity deserves just as much attention as you diligently give to so much else in your life.

If now feels like the right time to claim your creative crown, my 1:1 programs are here for you, and I can’t wait to hold space for you and cheer you on as your coach.

A smiling Catherine awaits your call!
